That from the failure of the licensed games these days, especially a licensed platform fighter. That would've turned out a massive failure, but the voice actors, Ludocity with the Slap City know how and continued support and the overall love for all things Nick from the Devs and the fans turned to something at the very least a decent time waster. A greedy corporation making a Smash clone only because Smash Bros Ultimate is the new hotness. If it at least mixed up the arcade mode like that, I would've sticked with it a bit longer.īut nevertheless, NASB by all circumstances should never have worked the way that it did. NASB is fun enough and it resolved the voice acting and items and other oddities but it had a general lack of stuff to do and explore in the single player front (no single player adventure mode, no trophy style descriptions of the characters and history, survival mode, etc.) besides running arcade mode for the 270th time after clearing everyone and even that lacks variety (where's free for all, team battle, bonus modes like break the targets, etc? besides 1 v 1). $39.99 Coming out with the price that it should've stayed at. Multiversus seems to be taking that route but we'll have to wait and see. It may sound a bit pessimistic but if you want to create a PlatFighter, the safer option is to go the Aether or Brawlhalla direction, not the Smash direction. ![]() I mean LEGO Dimensions was a good concept but its plans got cancelled and I know there's some big hoo-hah over projects getting cancelled over the WB-Discovery merger. I think that's what happened the NASB and although Multiversus is F2P, I wouldn't be surprised if WB decide it's not worth continuing. When you have a corporation that deals with various media, they aren't going to afraid to knock certain projects on the head. I think the main issue with these sort of games and why I'm reluctant to try the likes of Multiversus is that companies look at Smash and see 'yeah, we want some of that' and do it and then once it becomes less profitable, ditch it. Like, it's sort of self contradicting- 'More competition is healthy but also KILL THE COMPETITION!!'. Whenever a new PlatFighter is revealed, I lose interest if the terms 'more than one Smash-like can co-exist' get banded around with 'Smash-killer'. Maybe it's because I never grew up with Nick but it just felt a bit.flat.
